The following list of features are included in the Build-Sight

Web Based Administration
A comprehensive administration section allows you to set up
everything required to run your jobs:
- Create users, managers, superintendents, subcontractors and
clients.
- Control user access across system.
- Create Jobsites and Sub Divisions.
- Create schedules based on templates or design your own.
- Set up subcontractor email/fax schedules.
Scheduled Items
Build-Sight has a core scheduling system for tracking planned
tasks:
- Each task includes the following attributes: Start Date,
Finish Date, Original Start, Original Finish, % Complete, Duration,
Up to 3 responsible parties, predecessor(s), Internal Notes,
Public Notes.
- Critical Path Calculation based on predecessors and task
linking. Completion dates projected based on critical path.
- Schedule Recalculation real-time on page save.
- Completed tasks can be displayed or hidden.
- Tasks can be grouped into stages for top level progress view.
A stage is either pending if no tasks have
been started, in progress if at least one
is started and not all are complete, or complete if
all tasks are complete.
- Tasks can have images associated with them with the optional
Palm Camera module.
- Tasks can initiate punch items to manage additional ad-hoc
work requests.
- Tasks can be displayed ordered by any of the main attributes
for easy viewing and prioritizing.
- Contract completion dates for schedule tied to Home buyer
tasks and automatically extend if those tasks are late.
- Every day the entire schedule moves all un-started tasks
one day forward automatically.
- Automatic handling of weekends and holidays for task rescheduling.
Contact Database and Resource Pool
Build-Sight allows central management of contacts.
- A resource/contact has basic contact information including;
name, company, email, phone, address etc.
- A resource can be grouped into a discipline. A discipline
can be assigned to tasks within a schedule template allowing
resources to be quickly assigned to multiple tasks on a job.
- The contact database is available on the Palm for easy field
access.
Subcontractor Notifications
Build-Sight can send automatic updates to subcontractors notifying
them of their scheduled tasks and current punch items.
- Subcontractor schedule can be configured to meet each subcontractors
needs.
- Notifications can be sent as either email or fax (fax module
required for faxing).
- Notifications can include all assigned tasks or just the
immediate future (e.g. 3 weeks out).
- Subcontractor can login to the website and request a copy
of the notification at any time.
Homebuyer Responsible Tasks
Build-Sight includes a specially developed homebuyer section
of the website. This includes all the information the homebuyer
wants to see regarding the progress of the job.
- Tasks assigned to home buyer (such as selections) are highlighted
for the homebuyer.
- Tasks assigned to home buyer that are in alarm (late) automatically
affect the contracted completion dates.
Punch Items
A punch item is an ad-hoc task not built into the schedule.
- Punch Items can be created on their own or from a Schedule
or Warranty item. Creating from the schedule or warranty item
will pre-populate the punch item information with as much detail
as is relevant.
- Punch items have the following attributes: Description, %
Complete, Date Created, Responsible Party, Notes.
- Punch items appear on the subcontractor notifications with
the scheduled items.
Warranty Items
A warranty item is a request for work after the main schedule
has been completed. Build-Sight archives project data post completion
for easy management of warranty items
- The home owner (client) can log in and request a warranty
item at any time.
- A warranty request can be accepted or rejected with reason.
- If accepted a punch item can be created and assigned to a
resource to be completed.
Feedback Items Build-Sight offers a simple to use feedback system for clients
to communicate directly with the superintendent about their project.
- Feedback items are topic based. One topic thread can have
multiple messages.
- Feedback items are highlighted in the alarms section to ensure
they are answered promptly.
- Feedback items can be responded to on the Palm in the field
by the superintendent.
Jobsite Summary Page
Build-Sight includes a top level progress page that puts all
your Jobsites into a single web based report.
- The Jobsite summary page lists all jobsites with following
attributes: Current Scheduled Completion Date, Task Stage Bar
(high level progress indicators), Items in Alarm, Address.
- Jobsite summary page can be user managed to only allow certain
jobsites be displayed depending on the logged in user.
- Jobsites can be ordered by any of the main attributes.
Palm Integration
Build-Sight works with most Palm Devices. The Palm accesses
the web data via a standard "hotsync".
- Scheduled Items editable via Palm.
- Punch Items editable and can be created via Palm.
- Warranty Items editable via Palm
- Feedback items editable and can be created via Palm.
- Alarms visible via Palm.
- Palm data can be limited to certain users at a jobsite level
(e.g. assign Jobsite A to Superintendent 1 and Jobsite B to
superintendent 2)
Job Cam
Build-Sight offers a web based camera system to track jobs visually.
- Real time monitoring allows manager to physically see who
is at the jobsite.
- Client/home buyer can watch progress of their home.
- Archived images can be combined to create time-lapse video
of construction.
- Installed on pole near jobsite, provides visual deterrent
for jobsite theft.
- Increases subcontractor and superintendent accountability.
